Ashleen Scheuer
studio ownerHi, my name is Ashleen. I was born and raised in SC. I have been a pediatric and an adult oncology nurse for the past 13 years. After having my daughter back in 2018, and my son in 2020, I realized I wanted to bring something fun, new, and educational for kids to do in Columbia. I've always loved kids and they are my passion. Besides loving kids, I love my (lazy but cute) mini goldendoodle Walter. I cannot wait to meet all you guys!
Alysa James
InstructorHi, My name is Alysa James! I am 17 years old and a rising senior at Hammond School. I have 3 younger sisters ages 14,12, and 8. Ever since I was little, I have LOVED to cook. I am super excited to be working with Flour Power and helping the kids with hands on fun! I can't wait to start stirring up fun in the kitchen with these lil chefs this summer!
Janice Coker
InstructorHi, my name is Janice Coker. I have been in SC since 1975. I am the proud mother of 2 wonderful daughters, Catherine and Allison who are literally "the light of my life." They both work in health care and I am extremely proud of them. I began working as a Neonatal nurse in 1974 and then became a neonatal Nurse practitioner in 1979 and now am happily retired. I worked with Dr. Fred Garner, pediatric ENT for around 4 years and then made my way back to the NICU for the remaining years of my career. I miss working with children and am looking forward to to this new adventure. I love cooking and baking and am thrilled to be apart of this new "family." I am so excited to begin this new phase of my life and look forward to meeting new families and making new friends.

Kaylee Battle
ManagerHi! I'm Kaylee and I've been working at Flour Power since August of 2021. I was born and raised in SC and moved to Columbia in 2020. I am 20 years old and the have three older siblings! Before coming to Flour Power I have worked at a cafe/bakery, pizza shop, and as a nanny. I've always loved cooking and baking and even when I'm not at the studio I'm usually doing one of those two things! I love spending time with my friends, hanging out with my horse and my cat, reading, and photography. My favorite part about my job is getting to learn all sorts of new things with the sweetest kids and getting excited about cooking every day!
Claudia Dean
InstructorHi my name is Claudia! I'm a junior at the University of South Carolina, and I'm currently majoring in Public Health with a minor in Education. My future aspirations involve becoming a Speech Pathologist for Pediatrics. I have a cat named Jax and I love spending time with him. I also love traveling, reading, and spending time with loved ones. I previously worked at Starbucks, so you'll often see my at work with an iced coffee in hand. My favorite thing about working at Flour Power is how much it has taught me about cooking and getting to know the kids!
