Chef Rick Pearl

Chef Rick Pearl

Professional Chef/Instructor/Studio Food & Safety

Meet Chef Rick! The kids will literally watch the door waiting for him to arrive during camps and classes! He brings such a vast amount of knowledge with him when he is working with our campers and kiddos and adult students as well! Here is his bio! "Hi, I am Chef Rick aka Chef Pearl, Moved here from Florida many years ago. I spent 26 years in the restaurant business, reaching certified working chef status. Taught culinary arts in the Charlotte area for 6 years and 15 in the Raleigh area (Harnett Central) Teaching 11 and 12 graders how to cook.Having 16-18 move on to culinary school. Retiring 1 year ago. For the most part, I enjoyed teaching at that level, especially those really interested. I enjoy teaching the smaller ones, at their age they are sponges, wanting to learn. I am really surprised at the level of cooking knowledge for the Flour Power kids. My wife, the elementary school teacher had always told me the ones I taught were just bigger versions of the ones I teach now. I really like the excitement from them when I come and go each day!"

Riann Potts

Riann Potts

Garner Studio Owner

My name is Riann, (pronounced "Ryan") and I am the happy owner of the Flour Power Garner Studio! We opened our doors September 1st 2019 and have really enjoyed getting to know all of the families that have come to our events, classes and camps over the past year! My background is actually in healthcare, as I am also a nurse! I went to Nursing School in Wilson, NC right out of High School and practiced nursing for about 15 years before deciding to stay home with my youngest daughter, as a stay at home mom. I really wanted a career change, and I loved the concept of cooking with children, 2 things I am very passionate about, so Flour Power seemed like the perfect avenue for me! The community support has been extremely humbling and so very much appreciated! Each and every one of you and your children that have entered our studio are very special to us at Flour Power Garner. Our number one goal for every child that enters our doors is they have FUN and stay SAFE in our care. We have so much fun in our studio, making fun and lasting memories with all the families in the community!
