Chris

Chris

Studio Owner

Chris wants to live in a world where the smell of fresh brewed coffee is your only alarm clock, summer is a twelve-month season, and nap-time is socially acceptable for adults. As an early childhood educator for most of her career, Chris is an advocate for hands-on learning and believes in the value of making messes. She's worked with children of all ages and is excited to foster a love of cooking in chefs of all ages. Chris has fond memories of spending her early years at her grandmother's nursery school and her school-aged years helping at her family's restaurant. She sees Flour Power Kids Cooking Studio as a perfect blend of all her passions and an opportunity to start her own family-owned business (her daughter Shaylee is her partner and studio manager). Salty or Sweet: Why or? Chris loves salty and sweet together. Favorite Comfort Food: Grilled Cheese & Soup. Favorite T.V. Chef: Curtis Stone.

Shaylee

Shaylee

Studio Manager

Shaylee wants to live in a world where you don't have to wait for movie sequels, everyday is bring your pet (dachshund) to work day, and mornings don't start before 10:00 A.M. While working in summer camps during breaks from school, Shaylee developed a passion for working with children. After graduating from CSU she pursued a career in childcare, where she discovered - from making playdough recipes with toddlers, to working as the center cook, to providing the cooking enrichment program for preschoolers - the joy children get from cooking. Salty or Sweet: Shaylee loves salty, then sweet, then salty again. Favorite Comfort Food: Cheesy Rice. Favority T.V. Chef: Anne Burrell.

Miranda

Miranda

Instructor

Miranda wants to live in a world where everyone is happy and enjoying a stress-free life, she wants it to be a place that is a judgement free zone, and where you can go to bed late and wake up early feeling refreshed. During her numerous hours of volunteer work throughout the Douglas County area Miranda chose mostly to work with kids. She enjoys playing, teaching, and talking with children of all ages and is excited to share in their learning experience while at Flour Power. Having the ability to teach kids to cook is something she’s always wished to experience in her life, and now she is doing just that! Salty or Sweet: Depends on her cravings, but she typically likes them together. Favorite Comfort Food: Bagel with cream cheese. Favorite T.V. Chef: Gordon Ramsay
