Ginger grew up in Whiteville, NC and went to East Carolina University (Go Pirates!). She learned to cook by spending time in the kitchen with her parents, grandparents, and family members--all amazing southern cooks who rarely used recipes. She has been practicing as a physical therapist in the geriatric setting for the past 20 years. After working in TX, LA, and NY, she missed her home state and moved to Huntersville NC in 1998. Ginger is married with 3 daughters: Keely (14), Alaina (11), and Sadie (9). She enjoys reading, church activities, spending time with family, and watching her daughters dance. Favorite ingredient to use: Fresh herbs. Favorite savory recipe: Shrimp and Grits with Roasted Okra. Favorite dessert: Crème Brulee. Best "food" childhood memory: Grandma's Butter Beans.
